The Bridge

Idea

My sculpture shows two people forming a bridge. It is supposed to symbolize the building of bridges in Europe, as a connection with each other. On the one hand, the embrace is loving and friendly, they support each other and form a unity, without each other it is not possible…. on the other hand, the position also looks a bit like a wrestling match, finding unity in Europe is not always easy, this is also what my sculpture is supposed to symbolize. Finally, the different surfaces of the sculpture, from rough to coarse, passing by fine handcrafted touches and polish, are supposed to represent the diversity of the bluestone but also of the peoples of Europe
