The European Sculpture Path is an initiative of the Art moves Europe e. V .. The aim of the European Sculpture Path is to remember the achievements of the “European Idea” and at the same time to invite a dialogue about the future design of European society. The participating artists realize their sculpture in cooperation with the local institutions and sponsors. In this way, the dialogue on the subject of Europe is stimulated as early as the planning phase wherever initiatives are formed.

Help shaping visions for Europe
We invite artists from all European countries to take part in the European Sculpture Path with a sculpture on the subject of “Visions for Europe” and thus to make a contribution to an open and democratic society in Europe. The starting point of the European Sculpture Path is in the Karlsgarten in Aachen with the sculpture “Kaiser Karl” created by Alfred Mevissen.
Many of the planned sculptures, like here in Aachen, will be set up in culturally attractive locations. In addition to the artistic aspect, the project also addresses the cultural peculiarities of the respective location region. By combining art and culture, as many people as possible should be encouraged to actively participate in the discourse on shaping the future of Europe.
The European Sculpture Path was opened on May 9th 2022 running local events in parallel at the places, where the sculptures are installed. This website invites you to follow the story of the European Sculpturepath virtually .
After May 2022 we will create 3D scans or videos of all sculptures on a documentation trip through Europe and prepare reports on the cultural peculiarities of the regions surrounding the location. Our aim is to have sculptures in all European countries.
